How It All Began

Scottish Pipers for Hire was founded by Ed Arnold, a seasoned bagpiper from Sheffield with a rich musical journey that began at age 12. Over the years, he has performed with various competition bands, including the Manchester Phoenix Pipes and Drums, and taught at the Army Foundation College in Harrogate for over eight years. His performances span TV and radio appearances, newspaper features, and countless weddings, funerals, Burns Suppers, and New Year’s Eve events across the UK and Europe. Currently, he is a member of the Celtic rock band Gaelforce. 

Ed’s commitment to delivering top-quality performances and his dedication to client satisfaction have earned him glowing testimonials. This passion for excellence led him to establish Scottish Pipers for Hire. What began as a small blog among a select group of professional pipers he knew from competition circuits, as well as those recommended for their professionalism, has since grown into a trusted agency.
