North West Bagpiper – Gregory Wilson

Experience: Gregory has been playing the bagpipes for over 25 years. He began playing as a young boy following in his father’s footsteps along with other members of his family. During this time he gained much experience and awards in solo competitions and competing in bands.  

Gregory has had many highlights in different levels such as winning the European championships with his local bands, to achieving aspiration of playing with the Vale of Athol in grade 1 (the highest obtainable grade in piping). He has also had much experience as a piper outside of competition such as performing at funerals, weddings, birthdays, ceilidhs, etc.

Gregory has played in concert for Rod Stewart with his band and also performed solos at the community concert in Northern Ireland as well as numerous others. He amassed a large repertoire through the years and usually can accommodate most requests.
